BJP files nomination for Talasara(ST) assembly seat

Bhubaneswar, Oct 9(UNI) Accompanied by a host of BJD-BJP leaders, including several ministers, BJP candidate Sahadeb Khakha today filed his nomination paper for the byelection to Talasara(ST) Assembly seat.

By-election for Talasara was necessitated following the death of sitting Congress MLA Gajadhar Majhi.

Although nomination for the byelection has started since October 6 last, so far only Mr Khakha had filed his nomination paper. The Congress is yet to announce its candidate for the byelection.

The last date for filing of nomination papers has been slated for October 13. While the scrutiny of the nomination papers would be held on October14, the last date for the withdrawal of the nomination papers has been fixed on October 16.

Byelections to the Assembly seat would be held on October 30.
