28 Paramilitary personnel detained
Katihar, Bihar) Oct 9 (UNI) Altogether 28 para-military personnel were detained from the New Delhi-bound North East Express at Katihar railway station last night for forcibly occupying the berths reserved for a group of school children.
Assistant commandant of Railway Protection Force(RPF) B K Gupta today said the jawans had forcibly occupied the berths of a reserved bogey of the North East Express and did not allow the school students to board the train at New Jalpaiguri station.
Some students were also beaten up by jawans who had managed to board the train. Later the students were pushed out from the bogey by jawans at Kishanganj railway station, Mr Gupta added.
The matter was being thorougly investigated, said the assistant commandant.
A case in this connection was registered at Katihar railway station.
