19 hurt in CPM-RSS clash

Kozhikode, Oct 9 (UNI) Nineteen people were injured, two of them seriously, in a clash between the CPI(M) and RSS activists near Koilandi in the district last night.

Police said a wordy dual between them over a RSS sakha at the CPI(M) stronghold at Muchukunnu, turned into clash.

The injured were admitted to Kozhikode Medical College and the Koilandi Government hospital.

A large contigent of police force headed by Koilandi Circle Inspector Sreenivasan was camping in the area.

Meanwhile, the CPI(M) has called for a hartal in the locality in protest against the incident.
