Village Panchyat Predsident brutually murdered

Bangalore, Oct 8 (UNI) In a macabre incident, Doddakallasandra Village Panchayath President Muniswamy (38) was brutally murdered in Bangalore Urban district during by-elections to Kaggalipura Zilla Panchayath today.

According to official sources, Janata Dal (Secular) leader Muniswamy was proceeding in his car to mobilise support for the party candidate when a three-member gang, who came in motorcycles, attacked him with lethal weapons and escaped from the scene after his death.

Following the incident, tension prevailed in the village. Police have rushed to the village and the situation was stated to be tense but under control.
