Surprise raids at Lakhanpur check post

Jammu, Oct 8 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) carried out surprise raids at Lakhanpur, entrance of the state, and detected smuggling of goods from an alternate route skipping Lakhanpur.

Sources said following complaints of irregularities by the truckers in connivance with staff of the excise department, a team of the vigilance officers conducted a raid yesterday. The team detected large scale irregularities like over-loading in trucks than prescribed weight and seized relevant record and recorded statement of many truckers, sources added.
