Sketch does not match acid attack accused, says victim
Una, Oct 8 (UNI) Vijaya Jublani, one of victims of the acid attack in which Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli suffered serious burns, has said the sketch released by the Uttaranchal Police does not match the appearance of the accused.
Talking to reporters here today after arriving from Dehra Dun yesterday, she said the sketch released by the police does match the youth with whom she had come face to face before he threw acid on Rangoli.
Ms Jublani had sustained five per cent acid burns on her arms on Thursday when an unidentified youth threw acid on Rangoli standing besides her at their rented accommodation in Dehra Dun, where they are pursuing their studies.
She said the incident occurred at 1030 hrs after she answered a call on the door when an unidentified youth asked for Rangoli.
As soon as Rangoli, who was in the kitchen, came face to face with the stranger, he threw acid on her, some of which spilled on to her body, she said.
Replying to a question, Ms Jublani said whenever Rangoli received a call on her cellphone, she would move aside to talk.
''We never asked each other personal questions and neither did she ever divulge the identity of the person calling her. She is a very sober girl and we have never come across any proof that suggested she was in relationship with boys,'' she said.
Even though a large number of boys and girls from different parts of Himachal Pradesh were studying in Dehra Dun, Rangoli was never friendly to any of them, she added.
