Neha Dhupia feigns ignorance about Afzal

Gwalior, Oct 8 (UNI) Bollywood starlet and former Miss India Neha Dhupia is ignorant about Mohammed Afzal and the reason for his being in news.

Talking to reporters here today, Neha, who was here to inaugurate a departmental store showroom, admitted she did not know about Mohammed Afzal.

On being told that he was main accused in December 13 Parliament Attack case and an appeal had been made to the President to provide him clemency after a court ordered his execution, she said she was not interested in politics and rarely read about it.

Regarding the use of word 'Gandhigiri' in blockbuster 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai', she said she did not find anything objectionable to the use of the word, noting that the film had inspired people and spread Gandhiji's message.

On increasing obscenity in films, Neha, who shot into fame due to exposure in film 'Julie', felt a lot depended upon the script, the artist and the director. However, there was a limit for everything.

About protest on stage shows of artists by political workers at various places, the Bollywood actress claimed that the leaders of their political parties were the first to come to watch the show.

She feigned ignorance about the underworld's interference in film industry and expressed no interest in acquiring information about it.

Regarding remake of old movies, she said it was wrong to state that producers and directors were bereft of ideas and if people enjoyed viewing remakes of old movies there was nothing wrong in their production.

She noted that television was the most powerful media in the country and it generated more women viewership than cinema.

She said she was busy shooting for her upcoming films, which included Delhites, Mithya, Dus Kahaniya, etc.
