Naxals damage railway tracks
Jagdalpur, Oct 8 (UNI) Naxals damaged railway tracks between Bailadila and Bacheli stations in tribal-dominated Bastar region of Chhattisgarh during bandh last night resulting in derailment of a goods train.
Earlier, an attempt to blow up the railway track between Bailadila and Vishakhapatnam stations failed when the bomb did not explode.
Dantewara Superintendent of Police O P Pal said a bomb and a handout was found from the spot. The handout stated that the ultras had organised 'Dandkarnya' bandh from October 7-12 to protest killing of Naxal commander Anna recently.
Meanwhile, police had an encounter with Naxals at Mosala village in this Bijapur Police District last night. Police recovered a body this morning but the deceased was yet to be identified.
