Heavy rains still over Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 8 (UNI) The South West monsoon remained vigorous over Kerala, with most places receiving heavy rains.

Rain and thunder showers occurred at many places in Lakshadweep, local weather office said today.

The highest rainfall of 16 cm was recorded at CIL Kochi followed by Alwaye with 12 cm and Kozhikode 11 cm.

Rainfall of eight cm was recorded at Cherthala, Thodupuzha and Thiruvananthapuram Airport.

Isolated heavy rain was likely over Kerala during the next 48 hours, the office added.
