Five killed in accident

Villuppuram, Tamil Nadu, Oct 8 (UNI) Five people, including four women, were killed and 14 others injured, when the mini-door van in which they were travelling collided with a lorry at Ashoka Puri near here today.

Police said the mishap occurred, when a group of devotees from Puducheery were on their way back after paying a visit to a temple at melmalayanu in cuddalore district.

The five people, who died on the spot, were identified driver as Ranganathan (40), Prema (35), Anjalidevi (18), Nitya (17) and Shalini (15).

The injured were admitted to Cuddalore Government Hospital, police added.
