DPI's crossing over will strengthen DPA: Ramadoss
Chennai, Oct 8 (UNI) The crossing over of Dalit Panthers Of India (DPI) to the DMK led DPA will further strengthen the DPA in Tamil Nadu, according to Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) Founder President Dr S Ramadoss.
Talking to newspersons, after a meeting with DPI General Secretary Thol Thirumavalavan, here today he said the victory of the DPA both in Madurai Central Assembly Constituency by-election and local body elections was certain and now with the DPI joining the DPA, it would further confirm victory for the DPA.
He said the PMK and the DPI had worked together for several good causes especially under the banner of Tamil Protection Movement and they would continue to strengthen their tie further in the same line.
He said he was sure that the DPI will come out of the undemocratic AIADMK front led by Ms Jayalalithaa.
''The changes that happened now was some thing I expected'', Dr Ramadoss said.
He said the PMK and DPI would work together to protect the interest of Tamils as well as the Tamil language.
Mr Thirumavalavan described his meeting with Dr Ramadoss as a courtsey one.
Dr Ramadoss invited him to join the DPA at the time of recent Assembly elections, but due to some unavoidable circumstances he was not in a position to come out of the AIADMK front.
But now, the DPI had joined the DMK led DPA and he was very happy with his new association, he added.
