Double for Gaurav Dalal and Rayomand Banajee

Chennai, Oct 8 (UNI) Gaurav Dalal stole the limelight winning the Formula Rolon race in a thrilling contest against Gaurav Gill in the fourth leg of the JK Tyre National Racing Championship at the MMST track at Irrungattukottai near here today.

On a hot and sunny day in humid conditions, the other drivers who shared the limelight with Gaurav were Rayomand Banajee, Saran Vikram and Saahil Shelar.

It was a fascinating duel between the two Gauravs, Dalal and Gill from Wallace Sports and Prime Racing - as they came up with one of their best performances in the first race of the premium Formula Rolon Chevrolet category race.

Pole leader Gill shot off into the lead and despite a fighting effort from Gaurav Dalal, he was able to maintain it till the seventh lap.

However, in the eighth lap, Dalal made a good manoeuvre and pushed himself into the lead and held it till the finish.

Gill finished second while Mumbai racer Ameya Walavalkar of Team NK Speed finished third. Gaurav Dalal also timed the fastest lap of 01:55:978.

In the second race, Gill was once again off to a good start and maintained the lead till lap five when Gaurav Dalal decided to take control and surged ahead of Gill.

There was no looking back for Dalal then as he raced to his second victory of the day.

Finishing in third place was veteran racer Akbar Ebrahim.
