CPI (ML) asks UPA to apologise publicly

Ranchi, Oct 8 (UNI) The CPI (ML)today said the Madhu Koda-led UPA governent in Jharkhand should apologise for causing inconvenience to the people over delay of Cabinet expansion and its leaders' irresponsible statement over the issue.

Party's central committee member Janarddan Prasad and state secretary Subhendu Sen told a press conference here that ministers without portfolios even after more than two weeks forced the people to think that there was no governemnt in the state now.

Mr Prasad said the government was given the tag of UPA, which was not true. The present government was led by an Independent MLA.

Besides, the Congress which is a major group in the coalition decided to stay out of the government.

Even, the RJD in the state was yet to make its final decision over participation of the Koda government, he said.

Regarding the November six by-election to Koderma parliamentary seat, the CPI (ML) said it would be in the fray on principle only.

The leaders said the three major contenders--Mr Babulal Marandi, BJP and UPA were now taking a defensive stand, for Mr Marandi after resigning from BJP was yet to decide on the platform and banner under which he would stand.

The BJP after losing power in the state was suffering from inner squabble and the UPA was undecided on its common candidate.

The CPI (ML) has fielded Mr Rajkumar Yadav who in last elelctions got more than one lakh votes.
