Constable killed; two injured
Jammu, Oct 8 (UNI) A police head constable was killed while two other police personnel, including an officer, were injured when militants attacked their vehicle in Gool area of Ramban police district last evening.
Police sources said today personnel of Central Indian Reserve Police (CIRP) were returning from Deeda to Gool when militants hurled a grenade and opened firing on the vehicle at Moori top.
A head constable Gulzar Ahmed was killed on the spot while ASI Dhuni Chand and constable Nissar Ahmed were injured.
The injured were later admitted in a local hospital.
The security forces started massive search operation to nab the militants but they managed to escape, the sources said.
In another incident, a fidayeen, who fired on police and managed to escape on friday night at Belapur colony near officiers colony, could not captured. The search operation was on but there has been no trace of the fidayeen.
