Carnival will boost tourism in Kutch: Modi
Bhuj, Oct 8 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has expressed the hope that the Kutch Carnival will soon be an event on the tourism calendar of India and could propel Kutch as hot tourist destination.
Speaking at the conclusion of the 'Sharadotsav' celebrations near the Hamirsagar lake here, Mr Modi hoped that more and more foreign tourists would come in for the event and experience the beauty of the Rann here. He said the culture and colourful traditional handicrafts of Kutch has always been a point of attraction for them.
The three-day event that began from October 6 at Loria village 35 kms away from here, was attended by several people from across the country and abroad, said an official statement.
The tourists were taken to places of historical and cultural significance and to the Kutch museum displaying rich tradition of the district. They also visited Dholavira, site of Harappan civilization.
Other Ministers like Anandiben Patel, Ramanlal Vohra, C D Patel and senior officials also attended the concluding ceremony.
