Awesome display b Indian lifters

New Delhi,Oct 8 (UNI) Indian lifters returned with one gold, two silver and one bronze at the World Masters Powerlifting Championships held at Killeen, Texas from October 3 to 7.

In a scintillating display, four of the five members of the Indian team managed to finish on the podium.

In the forty plus age group, Purna Chandra Bidhika won the gold in the 56 kg category with an aggregate lift of 375 kg while Sanjay Sardesai clinched the bronze medal in the 125 kg category with an aggregate lift of 717.5 kg.

In the fifty plus age group, Manohar W Talekar won the silver in the 56 kg category with an aggregate lift of 310 kg. Harshraj Agnihotri finished second in the 125 kg category with an aggregate lift of 556 kg.

Naresh Dhawan in the forty plus age group is the only member of the Indian squad not to win a medal. He finished seventh in the 110 kg category.
