Sugar prices ease on lack of fresh demand
Mumbai, Oct 7 (UNI) Spot sugar prices eased on lack of fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association today said.
Sugar of small and medium grades fell by Rs four and Rs five per quintal respectively on sustained heavy selling pressure.
Sugar of ex-mill in small grade declined by Rs 15 per quintal on increased offers by stockists, while medium grade went up by Rs two per quintal on reduced stocks supply.
Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,771/1,801, medium grade: Rs 1,780/1,855.
Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,735/1,755, medium grade: Rs 1,770/1,815.
