A group of persons led by an NCP corpotator Pratap Sarnaik and another group led by RPI leader Indise, came to blows over a local water dispute. The police had to intervene and restore calm.
Meanwhile, Congress men also raised a hue and cry over water scarcity and gheraoed the Rayladevi and Vartak Nagar ward officials. The group was led by local congress leader Manoj Shinde.
The Shiv Sena and BJP maintained a comparative calm after achieving their goal of getting an additional rake for the Thane-Vashi rail link.
