Playing good Samaritan after retirement
Betul(MP), Oct 7: A retired health worker is playing good Samaritan to patients from rural areas turning up at the district hospital here for over 15 years.
Mr B L Solanki, who retired as Multi-Purpose Worker from a primary health centre in June, 1990, ushers in the patients to the doctor concerned and helps in dressing and administering injection.
Affectionately called by one and all as Solanki Dada, he do the voluntary work for mere satisfaction. His family of four sons and three daughters, all settled, encourage him in this work.
Monthly pension of Rs 2000 was sufficient for my needs, Mr Solanki adds.
He turns up at the hospital daily as its opening time and stays on throughout the day.''Very often the patients from rural areas undergo hardship as they do not know whom to approach. My assistance give relief to them'', he added.
