Nickel rises, select metals ease on poor industrial demand
Mumbai, Oct 7 (UNI) Nickel rose by Rs 30 per kg on better buying support, while select metals eased on poor industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange today said.
In ferrous section: brass utensils declined by Rs 100 per quintal on increased offers by stockists.
In non-ferrous category: copepr wire bars and aluminium ingots fell by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on sustained heavy selling pressure. But zinc slab hiked by Rs 300 per quintal on increased in fresh demand.
Nickel cathode went up by Rs 30 per kg on improved demand.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 36,800, Copper utensils - Rs 32,200, Brass utensils - Rs 22,600, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,200 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,600.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,300, Aluminium ingots - Rs 12,900, Zinc slab - Rs 19,200, Lead ingots - Rs 6,800, Tin slab - Rs 520 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,830 (per kg).
