Varanasi: Muslim women call for Afzal's execution
Varanasi, Oct 7: Burqa clad Muslim women here today joined rag-picking children to give a call for executing Mohd. Afzal Guru, the Parliament attack accused sentenced to death, on October 20.
''We do not need traitors like Afzal, but seek patriots like Ashfaq Ullah Khan in India,'' was the call of Muslim women and rag-pickers gathered under the auspices of local NGO Vishal Bharat Sansthan at the Shastri Nagar Park here this afternoon.
The agitating women also put on the gallows, Mohd Afzal in effigy and said pardoning a man like Afzal will embolden the terrorists hell-bent at disintegrating the country.
They also urged the government to take stringent measures to crush terrorism as it is giving a bad name to the Muslims in the country.
