Js Krishna Iyer hospitalised

Kochi, Oct 7: Noted Jurist V R Krishna Iyer was admitted to the Medical Trust Hospital here early this morning after suffering a hairline fracture in his left arm and an injury to his lower back after slipping in his house.

Hospital sources said Justice Krishna Iyer, 90, had undergone an MRI scan. He was admitted to the MTH at about 0300 hrs.

''The report of the MRI is awaited. He is suffering some pain,'' the sources said.

Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, who was in Kochi en route to attend a function at nearby Aluva, called on Justice Krishna Iyer this morning.

Justice Krishna Iyer, a former Supreme Court judge, Kerala law minister and noted social and human rights activist, was rushed to the hospital after he slipped in his house at about 0230 hrs today.
