'Elephantine' celebration in K'taka

Shimoga, Karnataka, Oct 7 (UNI) Eleven pachyderms displayed their skills and tantalised thousands of onlookers during the Elephant day celebrations here today.

The Karnataka Forest Department (Wildlife), Shimoga Circle, organised the unique event at Sakrebailu elephant camp, about 13 km from here, on the eve of the 52nd Wildlife Protection week.

Eleven jumbos, including a baby elephant 'Prakruti', displayed their talent at the event. Over 5,000 school children and elders enjoyed the show, which included a catwalk by the pachyderms.
