Constable injured in Rajouri

Jammu, Oct 7 (UNI) A police constable was injured in Rajouri district here when a militant opened fire after he was apprehended by security forces.

Sources said security forces spotted the ultra at about 2100 hrs at Bela Colony and he was heading towards the nearby Officers Colony that houses senior civil and police officers.

As police tried to apprehend him, he opened indiscriminate fire injuring a police constable. He was later admitted to a district hospital here.

Senior police and army officials have rushed to the spot and the area has been cordoned off.

The militant is believed to be holed up in the area and a massive hunt has been launched to nab him.
