Congress MP cautions against INLD ''misinformation''

Chandigarh, Oct 7 (UNI) Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda today cautioned the people against the ''misinformation campaign'' launched by the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and some opponents within the Congress Party.

Mr Hooda, the son of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, while addressing a gathering in village Kherka, reiterated that 75 per cent of the land required for the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), to be set up near Badli in district Jhajjar, would be purchased by its developer at the market rate. The remaining 25 per cent land would be acquired by the State Government, he said.

Mr Hooda, who visited nine villages of the area today as part of his ongoing tour of his constituency, said that compensation at a rate of Rs 23 lakh per acre would be given by the Government for acquiring land for the proposed biggest SEZ in the country.

He said that the Government was giving utmost priority to safeguard the interests of the farming community and their interests would be protected while acquiring land for the SEZ.

Out of total land mass of 1.09 crore acres of the State, 0.2 per cent of the area has industrial units, Mr Hooda said, adding that in case of setting up of the SEZ, only one per cent of the area would be covered by industries as a result of industrial development in next 15 years. Also refuting claims that there was no development in the State, he noted that investment proposals involving an amount of Rs 40,000 crore have been received during the short period of one-and-a-half years of Hooda-led Congress government's rule whereas a total investment of Rs 41000 crore wasmade in the State in last 40 years.

He also announced that a road would be constructed from Badli to Gahri Sampla via Kherka Gujar under Pardhan Manrti Gramin Sadak Yojana at a cost of Rs nine crore.

Mr Hooda also announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh to construct concrete pavements in village Kherka Gujjar. Also, Rs 12.50 lakh has already been sent by him for the construction of class rooms in the school at the village, he added.
