Kolkata, Oct 7 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today appealed to the people, non-government organisations and local clubs to cooperate with the government and provide materials for the flood-affected people in the state.
'' The government has already spent more than Rs 100 crore for the affected people. But it will not be possible to carry on with the rescue work if the people do not cooperate with the government, '' Mr Bhattacharjee told newsmen after flagging off a convoy with relief materials for the flood-hit districts.
The Chief Minister said the Government had also appealed to different puja committees, urging them to reduce their puja budgets and donate fund to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
