Child trafficking racket busted
Raipur, Oct 7 (UNI) A child-trafficking racket, involved in abducting children and selling them to hotels for flesh trade, was busted with the arrest of three members, including a woman.
Three girls were also rescued from their clutches.
Inspector General of Police (Raipur range) D M Awasthi told a press conference that two girls had gone missing from Bhanpuri area of the state capital.
These girls were recovered when Nagpur Police arrested Ramesh, the main member of the racket, who was then brought to Raipur.
Based on his confession, two other members, including a woman, were nabbed and another girl rescued.
Ramesh admitted that two other girls lifted earlier from Gudhiyari area of Raipur were in Dhaulpur in Rajasthan. A police team has been dispatched to retrieve them.
Police expected to extract more information in other cases from the accused.
