Call off strike: United Forum of Bank Unions

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 7: United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) Convener Profullo Kumar Patnaik today urged the Lord Krishna Bank (LKB) employees to call off their strike as the Union Labour Minister Chandra Sekhar Sahu had expressed his willingness to discuss the issue of the Bank.

The Minister expressed his desire to sit across the table with the UFBU leaders, when Mr Patnaik called on the minister and apprised him of the situation arising out of the indefinite strike by the officers and employees of the Lord Krishna Bank, he informed in a statement here.

The Minister would announce the date of his meeting with the leaders at the earliest, he added.

Mr Patnaik requested the employees of the Bank to call off the strike with immediate effect vis-a-vis the plea of the Minister.

He advised the employees of the bank to resume work.

The LKB employees, went on a strike from September six demanding merger of the Bank with a Public Sector Bank instead of Centurion Bank of Punjab.
