Bangladeshi smuggler arrested with three gold bars

Kolkata, Oct 7 (UNI) Border Security Force (South Bengal Frontier) arrested a Bangladeshi from Bongaon while he was coming here and seized some gold bars from him, BSF said today.

Syed Nurul Islam of Dhaka was nabbed yesterday following a tip off. A BSF patrol party stopped the bus, in which the accused was travelling, at Bongaon, north of Kolkata, and arrested him, a BSF release said.

Islam was carrying three small gold bars worth over Rs 2.40 lakhs.

He had been handed over to Customs department for further investigation, the release added.
