APSACBEA welcomes government's decision, to continue stir

Itanagar, Oct 07 (UNI) Though Arunachal Pradesh State Co-operative Apex Bank Employees' Association (APSACBEA) has welcomed the state government's move for a CBI probe into the bank's affairs it has decided to carry on the indefinite strike till its demands are fulfiled.

The association has launched an indefinite strike yesterday, sources said.

APSACBEA said it always favoured the Vaidyanathan committee for the bank's revival and the probe to identify those responsible for the bank's sickness.

However, the repeated threats by the depositors had forced them to launch the agitation, it added.

However, the association reiterated its plea for providing liquidity to the bank and take up rigorous recovery drive in bank's greater interest.

Government spokesperson Tako Dabi had held the former managing director, some managers and a few present bank officials responsible for its present poor status.

The cabinet had rejected the association's demands and declared the bandh illegal, Dabi informed and warned of stern action if the employees continued their agitation.

The state BJP unit had also welcomed the move of the cabinet saying the truth should be revealed soon.

Besides, the party also supported APSACBEA's demands of amending bank's byelaws to bring in professionals, onetime soft loan for providing liquidity and advocated a viable policy for other state government undertakings like Arunachal Pradesh Industrial Development and Finance Corporation (APIDFC) and Arunachal Pradesh Forest Corporation (APFC) UNI UPB PP SRC/AB 1145
