TRS chief's nephew resigns from party

Hyderabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samiti Chief K Chandrasekara Rao's nephew Umesh Rao resigned from the party today.

Mr Umesh Rao and Mr R Harish Rao, another nephew of Mr Chandrasekhara Rao, had worked for the party during its formative period.

TRS sources said Mr Umesh Rao had already been placed under suspension. He was not not immediately available for comments.

Mr Rao has been heavily relying on the duo for organising party programmes and even selection of candidates for different elections.

Differences between the nephews was said to have triggered the move, soruces aver.

The current development is seen in political circles as being advantageous to the Congress as Mr Umesh Rao wields considerable following among the party cadre.

The Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat fell vacant after the TRS chief resigned. He had earlier quit the Union Cabinet along with his aide A Narendra protesting againt the delay in the formation of Telangana.
