SW monsoon active in Konkan

Pune, Oct 6 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has been active in Konkan and Goa.

It has been subdued over Bihar, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana, Rayalseema and interior Karnataka.

In the regions where southwest monsoon withdrawal has taken place day tempatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in east Rajasthan, northwest Madhya Pradesh and in some parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh and of Jammu and Kashmir and were above normal in Punjab and in some parts of west Rajasthan.

They were normal over Gujarat State.

Night tempratures were appreciably above normal in Rajasthan, north Gujarat and were above normal in some parts of Uttar Pradesh and were normal in Punjab and Jammu and Kahmir.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Andman and Nicobar Islands. Heavy rains are likely to occur at coastal Andhra Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Konkan and Goa Telangana, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Jharkhand, Bihar, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occured at most places in Andman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in Konkan and Gao. Heavy rains have occurred at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in coastal Karnataka and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Kerala, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat, Telangana, Rayalseema and south interior Karnataka.
