Sugar prices declines further on poor demand

Mumbai, Oct 6 (UNI) Spot sugar prices declined further on poor demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association today said.

Sugar of small and medium grades drifted lower by Rs two and Rs five per quintal, respectively, on increased offers by stockists.

Sugar of ex-mill in small grade remained steady on moderate demand while medium grade eased by Rs 12 per quintal on lack of fresh demand.

Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,771/1,805, medium grade: Rs 1,785/1,855.

Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,750/1,765, medium grade: Rs 1,768/1,810.
