Siddaramaiah to launch campaign after poll notification

Mysore, Oct 6 (UNI) Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah today said he will launch his election campaign for the Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency byelection after the poll date was announced.

Addressing party workers at Manchegowda Kopal on the outskirts of the city, he alleged that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had launched a new style of election campaign even before the election date was announced by announcing various developmental works to woo voters.

''Let him (Mr Kumaraswamy) refer to official files and let us know which works have been taken up so far in the Chamundeswari constitutency,'' he added.

Former Director General of Police L Revanasiddaiah, who also spoke, ruled out the possibility of his contesting from the seat on Janata Dal (Secular) ticket as reported in a section of the media.

''I am very much in Congress and not contesting the byelection to the Chamundeshwari constituency,'' he added.
