NSCN(K) washes hands off killing cop

Kohima, Oct 06: The NSCN(K) has condemned the gunning down of Wireless Constable Hovizol Puyo on October 3 here and refuted the NSCN-IM's accusations that they were responsible for it.

A statement issued here by NSCN(K) spokesman Isak Sumi said the (NSCN-IM) were in a haste and to accuse others, "obviously propelled by a guilt-ridden conscience", when even the mortal remains were yet to be laid to rest.

He clarified that the deceased was a sympathiser of the NSCN(K), acquainted with 'our' urban command boys, and on several occasions had provided transport to the outfit.

''The rival cadres having learned of this, followed Hovizol from NST and murdered him at BOC area that falls under our control, in order to malign our image and sow the seeds of hatred between the Angami community and the NSCN,'' Sumi said.

He also reiterated that the Naga armies would "do anything" in its capacity to apprehend the culprits.
