Nobel Academy, Nepal move into final

New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Niranjan Malla scored in the first half as defending champions Nobel Academy, Kathmandu edged past Govt Model Sr Sec School by a solitary goal to advance into the final of the junior (under-17) category of Subroto Cup Football Tournament here today.

In an evenly contested match, Malla scored the all imptorant goal in the 39th minute. The Nepal school hung on to the lead in the second half to move a step closer to retain the title.

Meanwhile in the sub-junior (under-14) section, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan, Dhaka routed Loyola High School, Pune 9-0 with Sumon Ali scoring a fine hat-trick.

In another match Mohit Joon and Mohit scored brace apiece as Mamta Modern Sr Sec School, New Delhi crushed Hewavitharana Maha Vidyalaya, Sri Lanka 10-0.

In other matches, Allied Co-Education School, Kathmadu sailed into the quarterfinals by defeating Sh Kamlakar Choubey Adarsh Seva Vidyalay, Varanasi 3-0. Sepon High School, Assam defeated Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa Hr Sec School, MP 4-0.
