Monica lives a fairy-tale life in Chenchalaguda prison

Hyderabad, Oct 6: Monica Bedi, girlfriend of Abu Salem, undergoing five years rigorous imprisonment in a fake pasport case, spends most of her time in the library in Chenchalguda prison here.

According to sources, Ms Monica, clad in white, visits the library regularly and reads immediately after breakfast, along with other inmates of the jail. She spends at least five hours in the library everyday, browsing through history and science books and newspapers. As per jail rules, every inmate has to attend a workshop from 0900 hrs to 1200 noon or from 1300 hrs to 1600 hrs everyday to learn making tooth powder, candles or tailoring. Ms Monica attended the workshop in the afternoon hours.

The sources said Ms Monica was friendly with other inmates and shared her experiences in the film industry. She also taught other inmates, as jail rules stipulated that educated prisoners should teach the uneducated during class hours in the prison every day.

She watched TV in the evening alongwith the other 20 inmates of the barrack in the jail. As for food, she preferred non-vegetarian, served every Sunday. She was very conscious about diet!
