Manipur prepares for President's visit

Imphal, Oct 6 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam is likely to visit the state to attend the 10th convocation of Manipur University .

Manipur University was recently upgraded as a Central University, officials said.

State officials said the President was also likely to visit other districts in the state and interact with students there.

The President would also visit Senapati district to see the passion fruit cultivation.

Officials said the President would travel in special choppers while touring the state.

Security arrangements would be tightened keeping in view of the President's visit, they added.
