HC directs authorities file affidavit on combating dengue
New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Expressing serious concern over the death of 18 people and 3000 hospitalised due to dengue, the Delhi High Court today directed the authorities to file an affidavit for the steps taken to prevent dengue epidemic in the capital.
A bench of Acting Chief Justice Vijendra Jain and Justice Kailash Gambhir ask the Centre, Delhi government, Municipal Corporation of Delhi and other civic bodies to file their reply within seven days on the action taken in pursuant to the direction of the court given earlier since 1996.
Adjourning the matter till October 17, the court said it was due to lethargic, and apathetic attitude of the operative that the dengue epidemic was recurring almost every year in the capital.
If the operative did not act today, the city would be engulfed with dengue today, chikungunya tomorrow and some other disease day after, said the bench in its order.
