First dengue case reported in uttaranchal

Dehradun, Oct 6 (UNI) A dengue case was confirmed here making it the first case in Uttaranchal.

Nona Khan (37) a resident of Bhagwanpur, Haridwar was admitted in City Heart Centre a private hospital here last night. Dr.

Rakesh Mittal of the hospital confirmed that she tested dengue positive.

The patient is under treatment and was recovering, he said.

It may be recalled that despite many patients admitted in Haldwani and Rishikesh hospitals with dengue like symptoms and few of them reffered to Delhi in serious condition the Uttaranchal Health Minister and the Health directorate had declared the state dengue free.
