First dengue case confirmed in Jharkhand

Latehar, Oct 6 (UNI) With the first dengue case being confirmed in Jharkhand's Latehar district, the authorities have taken extra care to stop spread of the disease in the state.

Ms Prachi, a five-year-old girl was suffering from high temperature on September 24 at Chandwa Block in the district. Her father Pramod Chowdhuri told UNI today that she complained of severe pain.

On September 26, she was rushed to the state capital Ranchi and the doctor attending to her sent her blood sample for test to Mumbai where she was diagonsed with dengue.

According to reports, her condition is stable now.

With detection of the disease, the authorities immediately constituted a group of doctors to monitor dengue-related cases in the area.

An alert was sounded in the entire state.
