Cop's shooter gunned down

Lucknow, Oct 6 (UNI) Police today gunned down a notorious criminal, who had allegedly shot dead a constable yesterday in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police said the encounter took place this afternoon in Kotwali area, which led to the elimination of Deep Kumar Shukla alias Guddu.

A pistol, cartridges and bombs were recovered from the spot.

The slain criminal had several cases of murder, loot and burglary registered against him.

Constable Sanjay Singh, posted at Gonda's Itiathok police station, was riding his motorcycle, when he was shot dead yesterday morning.
