Central team to study drought in MP
Tikamgarh, MP, Oct 6 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kantilal Bhuria has assured that a central team would soon arrive to study the drought situation in Bundelkhand region, which received below average rain.
''Tikamgarh, and in fact entire Bundelkhand, is facing a drought situation due to less precipitation over the past four years. I will make Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi familiar with the situation,'' he told mediapersons yesterday at this district's Prithvipur.
Alleging that an exodus was taking place as the state government had not initiated relief work, the minister added that the central team would ensure employment.
''Large-scale irregularities are taking place in various central schemes,'' Mr Bhuria added.
