BBC launches radio programme for women

Patna, Oct 6 (UNI) The BBC World Service Trust in India today launched a most ambitious radio programme 'Aangan Ke Par' upon issues of women in Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.

The programme which went on air through All India Radio Stations, is a weekly show focussing on issues related to women empowerment and their health.

Messages related to HIV/AIDS would be an integral part of the show and the first episode was braodcast today.

During programme launching, its Editor Rupa Jha said, through this the unheard voices of women would be brought before the mass.

It would evolve a platform for women issues and a window to give a view beyond the confinement of their courtyard.
