India beat Indonesia in classification round
Chennai, Oct 5 (UNI) India twice fought back from a set down to beat Indonesia 3-2 in a 9-12 classification match of the 13th Asian Junior Women's Volleyball championship at Nakhon Ratchsima in Thailand today.
According to the Volleyball Federation of India Secretary General K Murugan, the junior women were under pressure throughout the closely fought match before winning 22-25, 25-21, 28-30, 25-23, 15-13.
Meanwhile, Japan, Thailand, China and Chinese Taipei booked their semi-finals berths.
In the quarter-finals, Japan beat New Zealand 25-8, 25-7, 25-14, China prevailed over South Korea 25-17, 25-16, 25-18, while Chinese Taipei downed Vietnam 25-18, 25-16, 25-18 and the hosts defeated Australia 25-13, 25-12, 25-17.
