GSI undertook large scale mapping in August
New Delhi, Oct 5: Geological Survey of India (GSI), an autonmous organisation under the Union Ministry of Mines has carried out 22.50 square Kilo Metre of large scale mapping in August, this year.
According to data released by the Mines Ministry here today, GSI has done this mapping on 1:25,000-1:10,000 scale, and 0.65 kms of detailed mapping on scale larger than 1:10,000 in place of 68 sq. kms of large scale mapping and 0.62 sq. kms of detailed mapping in July 2006. It carried out 6242.80 meters (m) of drilling during August, 2006 as against 7317.75 m in July.
During the month of August, 2006 GSI carried out 432 sq. kms.
Specialized thematic mapping against the monthly target of 254.90 sq. kms and 190 sq. kms in July, 2006, the data added.
