Former Bihar MLA dead

Patna, Oct 5 (UNI) Senior Bihar Congress leader Moijuddin Munshi has died after a prolonged illness.

He was 67.

Mr Munshi, a two-time MLA from the Amour constituency, is survived by wife and two sons.

The minister died yesterday in Purnia, Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) Chief spokesman H K Verma said here.

He was elected to the state Assembly in 1980 and 1985.

BPCC president Sadanand Singh, who condoled his death, described the minister as ''a champion of the downtrodden and weaker section of the society''.

Vice-president of the state Congress Moiturr Rahman and several leaders of the party have also expressed profound grief over the death.
