Dutch court jails three for racist attack
AMSTERDAM, Oct 5 (Reuters) A Dutch court today jailed a German man and his two Dutch companions for a racist attack on a Caribbean man in the Dutch town of Papendrecht, close to Rotterdam.
The victim, who was knocked off his bicycle and beaten, was left with broken ribs and suspected permanent damage to his eyesight.
The main perpetrator, a 29-year-old German with a past conviction for racism in Germany, was also in possession of T-shirts with anti-Semitic slogans.
He received a three year prison sentence for attempted murder, the court said in statement.
A 22-year-old woman was jailed for three months for possession of the T-shirts, and a 27-year-old man received a two year sentence for his role in the attack.
Dutch authorities recently warned of growing links between Dutch and Belgian far-right groups.
