Centre should revive POTA Act: Venkaiah Naidu
Hyderabad, Oct 5 (UNI) Senior (BJP) leader Venkaiah Naidu today demanded the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government to revive the Prevention of Terrorist Act(POTA) to control terrorist activities in the country.
Addressing a press conference here, he said present laws were not sufficient to tackle the men are which was increasing.
He said the party would exert pressure on the UPA government to revive the Act and launch an agitation if they failed to do so.
The BJP would oppose pardon to Mohammad Afzal Guru, who had been sentenced to death for his role in Parliament attack case.
He alleged some psuedo political parties and fundamentalist groups were demanding clemency eyeing vote bank politics.
On the Outer Ring Road Project, he urged the Andhra Pradesh government to order an inquiry with a sitting High Court Judge along with the CBI.
He hoped that ties between the BJP and the Shiva Sena would not be snapped on the issue of Chimur Assembly seat in Vidarbha.
Mr Naidu said the party would contest all graduate constituencies in Andhra Pradesh for Member of Legislative Council(MLC) elections.
BJP state president N Indrasena Reddy today demanded the state government should order a CBI probe into the Fab city contract to bring out the facts.
