BHEL wins order for indegenous device from MSETC

New Delhi, Oct 5 (UNI) The public sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) once again got commercial recognition as its Transmission Business Group has secured an order for an indigenously developed device, Conrolled Shunt Reactor.

The order has been received from Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (MSETC) for supply of the new device alongwith the supply, errection, testing and commissioning of an 80 Mega Volt Amphere Reactive (MVAR) at Karad substation on Karad-Lonikand line on a turnkey basis, a company said in statement here today.

The automatic device, meant to be used in high voltage 400 Kilo Volt transmission lines, can improve power transfer capability of the lines and reduce system losses, besides improving system stability.

The new device has opened new lines of business for BHEL for meeting export and domestic requirment in high voltage transmission systems, it added.
